Big year, lots to cover here….<\/p>\n
To celebrate the release of Alpine Static<\/em>, the band first played a California leg (LA, SF, and Chico), then a NW leg (Eugene OR, Seattle, Vancouver BC, & Portland). We played with a slew of great bands like\u00a0Oneida<\/a> and Black Mountain,<\/a>\u00a0Master Musicians of Bukakke<\/a>, Charming Snakes, and Davis Redford Triad<\/a>.<\/p>\n Then\u00a0a midwest and an east coast tour with more great bands and a lot of buddies along the way.<\/p>\n Plus a short tour of Europe followed:<\/p>\n While in London, we stopped in for a session with Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1<\/a>. Here’s the page for that session.<\/a>\u00a0The great John Peel had just passed away one year prior, and it was amazing to record a four track session, in that room, feeling that history of the many Peel Sessions. We had tea.. Huw was great… and Mr. Peel’s presence was felt! Our track list for this session was Hiding Drugs in the Temple Part 2, The Wives of Artie Shaw, The Party Which You Know Will Be Heavy<\/em>, plus a “why not” cover of 60’s bubblegum band Crazy Elephant, Gimme Gimme Good Lovin<\/em>.
